Halloween Party

Hello everyone! We hope you had a great week and everybody is ready for all the Halloween parties that are coming up this weekend. It seems Halloween gets bigger and bigger every year in Tokyo. I can’t wait to see all of the wonderful costumes; some scary, some funny, some original, and some just amazing!

Speaking of Halloween and costumes, we had our very own Halloween party here at Star Kids last weekend. This year we had ten children come to our party, dressed in some of the best costumes, from a baby jack-o-lantern to a home made vampire costume. We also had some very pretty witches and princesses! It was a LOT of fun! We sang songs, played halloween themed games, and carved a real jack-o-lantern in class before heading out to the streets of Shibakoen to do some actual trick-or-treating! Then, with bags FULL of candy, we moved on to the park to play more games and to enjoy some of our trick-or-treat spoils, picnic style, right under Tokyo Tower!

We want to say a big THANK YOU to the local businesses in and around Shibakoen who took the time to help out with our trick-or-treat costume walk. Thank you Yanaka Coffee (芝大門店), フラワーショップサノー, Vashon, and even FAMILY MART for your kindness and support. You made the children very happy.

We would also like to say thank you to the two lovely witches who joined us for the first time at Star Kids International Preschool, it was wonderful to meet you! We love making new friends so thank you for coming. We hope to see you again soon!

Kawasaki Halloween Festival

On a side note, if you are looking for something fun to do this coming weekend, why not get out of Tokyo and head down to the Halloween festival in Kawasaki at LA CITTADELLA? It’s an amazing event with some of the most incredible costumes. It is also very children friendly with something to do for all ages, plus they are constantly coming up with new things to do and see. If that isn’t enough, they have an amazing costume contest with some of the most fantastic prizes! We’ve been there several times. If you have the time it’s a lot of fun, especially if you go in costume!
